About Rust-Oleum Surfa Etch Solution 108
Rust-Oleum Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution is an easy-to-use, non-flammable and virtually odour-free etching solution used for etching smooth concrete surfaces, masonry, galvanised steel and aluminium before applying a RUST-OLEUM coating system.
It neutralizes alkaline contaminations and removes zinc and aluminium corrosion products ("white rust").

Application and Thinning
Scrape or sweep away grease, oil, dirt and all other surface contaminations as much as possible.
Degrease with ND14 Cleaner Degreaser or high pressure (steam) cleaning.
Apply Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution liberally and scrub it into the surface.
Allow to stand for 10-15 minutes, depending on temperature, and clean thoroughly by flushing with plenty of fresh water.
Do not allow the Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution to dry before rinsing.
Concrete and masonry may need a second treatment.
After cleaning, remove any remaining water and allow to dry completely, as moisture left on the surface or entrapped into pores may cause failure of the coating system.
Large surface areas or poor drying conditions may require longer drying times before a coating system can be applied.
