About Teknos Woodex Aqua Wood Oil
Water borne tintable wood oil that penetrates deep into the wood.
Designed especially for protection of outdoor garden furniture made of pine and exotic woods, for example teak, hardwood, oak and mahogany. Other suitable objects are jetties, fences, trellises and doors. Prevents moisture from absorbing into the wood, and prevents also cracking and soiling.
Protects wooden surfaces against moisture and dirt, and when tinted, against the sun’s UV rays.
Not suitable for greenhouses, hotbeds and shelters for livestock
Surface Preparation
Remove from the surface all loose matter, dirt and dust. Use RENSA TERRACE deck cleaner on surfaces to be treated, when needed. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with water and allow to dry. We recommend that furniture made of exotic wood is subjected to weathering for at least 2 weeks before they are protected. We recommend that untreated wood is primed with Woodex Aqua Base. Remove old paint or varnish layers before the treatment.
Application
Stir well before application. Tinted product must also be stirred during the application, if needed. Apply Woodex Aqua Base by brush, sponge or spray. The recommended airless spray nozzle size is 0,013 - 0,017". Dipping can also be used. The wood oil can be diluted by 10 - 30% to improve the absorption. Depending on the quality of the wood, the treatment is renewed until the surface no longer absorbs any oil. Oil that has not been absorbed into the wood is wiped off after about 10 minutes from the application.
Application Conditions
The surface to be treated must be dry. The relative moisture of the wood must be below 20% of the weight of the wood. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the product shall be above +5 °C and the relative air humidity below 80%. Painting in strong sunlight or in moist weather is to be avoided.
