It is suitable for application to:
- Interior wood,
- Panelling,
- Doors,
- Furniture,
- Walls
- MDF.
It can also be used on primed metal and for repainting interior surfaces previously coated with waterborne, alkyd or acid-catalysed paints.
Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, oil, wax, rust, loose material and surface contamination.
Use Tikkurila cleaning and mould removal products for best results.
Treat knots and resinous areas with Tikkurila Knotting Lacquer and a good quality filler for filling cracks, nail holes, blemishes and leveling of uneven surfaces.
Ensure painted and filled surfaces are thoroughly sanded smooth.
Note: Discoloration of paint, especially noticeable within light colours, may occur over knots and resinous areas present in the wood. Particular attention with regards to preparation should be given to wood such as oak, teak, cedar, douglas fir, mahogany and idigbo, etc., which contain oil and water-soluble tannin which may impair the drying, hardening or adhesion of surface coatings and discolour the finished surface.
Prime bare interior wood overall and, if necessary, spot prime all bare areas on previously painted surfaces with Helmi Primer or Otex Adhesion Primer. Otex Adhesion Primer is also recommended for wood that contains substances which may ‘bleed through’ and cause staining to the finished surface.
Prime all bare metal and potential rust spots with Rostex Super.
