About Tikkurila Otex Akva Adhesion Primer/Undercoat

Tikkurila Otex Akva is the waterbased alternative to the original Otex Adhesion Primer.  

Easy to apply by brush, spray or roller, and easy to clean equipment with water. 

Otex Akva is ideal for use with Tikkurila Feelings Furniture Paint or Helmi Furniture Paint on interior woodwork.

Touch dry in 1 hour

Recoatable in 2 hours

Can be tinted to any colour to match topcoat

Low VOC content, very little odour and low particulate emissions

For Interior use only

Always ensure to thoroughly prepare your surface before applying the Tikkurila Otex Akva Primer.

Can I use an oil paint or a hybrid (waterborne alkyd) over akva?
Answer: 

If you plan to use a non Tikkurila topcoat over the Otex Akva we would recommend to do a small test area to be sure of compatibility first as well as making sure its fully dry and ready for a topcoat.
