About Teknos Ferrex Combi 2in1 Metal Primer and Topcoat

Teknos Ferrex Combi is a truly unique and innovative metal protection coating, based on modern paint chemistry. It effectively prevents the formation of rust beneath the paint film even in the harshest conditions providing superior protection to metal surfaces.

It is ideal for sheet-metal roofs and facades, railings, support columns, ladders, trailers, machinery, metal parts of boats (above the waterline), furniture, doors and windows.

Ferrex Combi also provides excellent colour and gloss retention, so the painted surfaces seem freshly painted even after years even at coastal areas with high humidity, extreme weather and moderate salt impact.

Preparation

STEEL AND ALUMINIUM SURFACES:

Surfaces to be painted must be cleaned from dirt, grease, oil and other impurities using Teknos RENSA STEEL washing agent, or by solvent wiping.

Steel surfaces: the minimum requirement is thorough wire-brushing to preparation grade St2; although our recommendation is to prepare to Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1).

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED METAL SURFACES:

Surfaces must be cleaned from dirt, grease, oil and other impurities using Teknos  RENSA ROOF washing agent or by solvent wiping.

Loose and poorly adhering paint must be removed with and surface rust being removed  (preparation grade St2) using wire-brushing or by mechanical methods.

PLASTIC COATED ROOF AND CLADDING:

Teknos Ferrex Combi can be used for touch-up painting of rusted areas.

Surface rust must be removed (preparation grade St2) using wire-brushing or by mechanical methods. Feather edge abrade the bare metal and paint to a smooth finish in order to ensure adhesion of the coating.

Abrade the painted surface to remove the surface sheen then touch-up with FERREX COMBI.

Application Conditions

The surface to be coated has to be dry.

During the application and drying period (note also the temperature of the night following the application) the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the product needs to  be above +10°C and the relative air humidity below 80%.

Drying time +23°C / 50% RH

Touch dry approximately 1 hour depending on the surface and the amount applied.

Recoat time approximately 4 hours.

However, the drying process will be slower in cold and/or damp conditions.
