About Tikkurila Akrostop Stain Blocking Sealer

Tikkurila Akrostop is a high-performance, water-borne, acrylate sealing and stain blocking primer for all surfaces except iron and steel. It is suitable for use on both new and previously painted concrete, plaster, brick, fibreboard, plasterboard, wood, panel and log surfaces and prevents bleeding caused by nicotine, soot and water staining.

For interior use, on objects at risk of bleeding. Suitable for

new and previously painted concrete, plaster, brick, filler, chipboard, cardboard-covered gypsum

board, wood, paneled, log and wood fibre board surfaces. Does not prevent the bleeding of wood extractives. Do not mix the product with other products.

Surface Preparation

Clean the surfaces by removing any dirt and dust. Wash the surface with Maalipesu cleaning agent. Fill

holes and cracks with a suitable filler (Prestonett is recommended) and sand the dry surface. Remove the sanding dust.

Application

Stir the paint well before use.

Apply 1-2 coats by brush, roller or spray gun.

Let the paint dry before applying the next coat.

Finish with a suitable finishing coat.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water.

Tikkurila Pensselipesu Tool Cleaner is recommended to remove slightly hardened paint.

Maintenance instructions

The surface can be cleaned in approx. 1 month from painting if needed.

Clean the surfaces with a well-squeezed, damp soft sponge or cleaning cloth and a neutral (pH 6–8) washing solution.

Follow the dilution instructions given by the detergent manufacturer when mixing the cleaning solution.

The surface must not remain wet after cleaning.

After the surface treatment, the surfaces must be handled with care for a few weeks as the product achieves its final hardness and durability after about one month under normal conditions. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after surface treatment, clean them lightly with a damp cleaning cloth.

For best results apply in environments where the air temperature between 5 ° C and + 25 ° C, and relative air humidity below is 80%.

Apply 1 to 2 coats by brush, roller or spray gun. Finish with a suitable finishing paint.
