About Teknos Timantti 3 Wall Primer
Timantti 3 is a water-borne acrylate dispersion primer for walls and ceilings indoors. Mildew-resistant. Finish: full matt.
Also suitable for priming unpainted concrete, plaster, stopper, brick and building board surfaces.
Timantti 3 can be used as an adhesion primer for wall and ceiling surfaces previously painted with alkyd or dispersion paints. Also suitable for priming surfaces that are to be wallpapered or to which a stick-on wall covering (e.g. a non-woven wallpaper) is attached. Timantti 3 can also be applied on galvanized sheet metal surfaces, such as air conditioning pipes.
Surface Preparation
Clean the surface from dirt and dust. Wash previously painted, dirty surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner. Matt down hard or gloss surfaces by sanding and thereafter remove the dust. For smoothing of irregularities in the surface choose a suitable filler. Dried filler needs to be sanded down and the dust removed. Steel surfaces to be primed with anti-corrosive paint.
Timantti 3 is a water-borne paint. Coatings, which are not waterproof, such as old unpainted ceiling stopper or glue paint coats, must be removed before applying Timantti 3. Alternatively FUTURA 3 adhesion primer can be used as an insulation primer.
Application
Before use stir the paint thoroughly.
The paint can be diluted with water, if required, but dilution may impair the coverage of the paint. Apply by roller, spray or brush. Recommended nozzle size for airless spray is 0.017 - 0.021''.
Top coating Surfaces primed with Timantii 3 can be top coated with top coats from the Timantti series and also other Teknos interior paints which would suit the object in question and the chosen coating system. Timantti 3 is white and full-matt and hence can be used also as a top coat e.g. on ceilings.
Application Conditions
The surface to be painted must be dry. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the paint should be above +5°C and the relative air humidity below 80%. Drying is faster in low air humidity and/or above + 21°C. Application will be easier if air is humidified and/or temperature is lowered in the working space. Ventilation after the painting will quicken the drying.
