Preparation

Bare steel will need to be free from rust, scale and dust and then primed.
Pressure treated timber should be weathered for at least 6 months before painting.
Denatured wood should be abraded to reveal new fresh timber.
On surfaces such as untreated weathered wood, new wood, cement, render, plastic, brick work or any porous substrates it is recommended that the first coat is thinned with up to 30% clean water.
Application
Bedec Multi-Surface Paint can be applied by brush, roller, conventional H.V.L.P or airless spray.
Avoid painting in temperatures below 8°C or when rain is due before the paint is able to fully dry.

![]() | Question: Can I use MSP (soft matt white) as an undercoat for another paint, eg Farrow & Ball waterbased Estate Emulsion ? |
Answer: As we wouldn't have tested this it would be recommended to test a small section of the topcoat over the Bedec beforehand, that being said this product would be a topcoat. It may be we have an alternative primer that fits the job please contact the sales team to see what we can offer. | |
