About Teknos Anti Stain Knot Inhibiting Primer 5200 - Spray Grade

Teknos Anti Stain Aqua 5200 Knot Inhibiting Spray Primer is a knot sealing primer specially formulated for knotty softwoods such as pine and spruce.

The primer uses a chemical binding process which minimises the yellowing from knots and softwood with a large amount of heartwood. 

Formulated for new wood for exterior surfaces such as windows and doors.

The knot inhibiting primer effectively reduces and delays the the discolouration of the top coat.

Teknos Anti Stain Aqua 5200 is a highly versatile, robust and easy to use softwood primer, which is typically used for exterior windows, doors, shutters, conservatories and timber cladding.

Pre-Treatment

The wood surface must be clean and free from wood dust or contamination.

The moisture of the wood should always be 13% and never exceed the maximum of 15%. 

All types of softwood for exterior purposes should either be vacuum impregnated or treated with a wood preservative. 

Application

Use Airmix (aircoat) or airless by hand or in a automatic spraying equipment. 

Application Conditions

Supplied ready for use, stir the product well before application. 

System Treatment

All primed parts must always be protected with a topcoat treatment before they are exposed to the weather. 

Coverage Rate - 5-8m2/l

Drying Times

2-3 hours (depending on temperature)

The drying time for this product can be reduced using a special drying systems to force drying.

The drying times are approximate and will vary according to the quality of the wood.

Please note that as the paint film thickness is important for the effectiveness of this product it is important to not 'oversand'. 

Cleaning

This equipment is cleaned with water.
