Surface Preparation

Remove loose rust and loose paint with a scraper, wire brush or sandpaper. It is not necessary to remove tightly adhering rust or old paint. Lightly sand glossy surfaces and wipe away residual dust with a clean cloth.

In all cases clean surface with detergents and water, rinse and let dry.

Zinc, aluminum and galvanised metal have to be treated with Rust-Oleum Non-Ferro first.

Application

Use outdoors or in well-ventilated areas, with temperatures above 10°C and humidity below 85% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that exceed 90°C.

Stir thoroughly (3 min.) before use. Apply by brush or roller. A short nap roller is recommended for large surfaces. Thinning is normally not required for brush and roller. 

Avoid painting in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.

Apply two coats for full protection, best appearance and maximum rust protection. Make sure that the corners, edges, and heavily pitted areas are adequately covered.

Touch dry after ca. one hour and can be handled after ca. five hours at 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Allow ca. 16 hours before applying a second coat. This product is guaranteed for 5 years when the coating is applied exactly as specified.

Cleaning of Equipment

Clean brush, roller, and other tools immediately after use with white spirit. Remove splashes from skin using soap and water or a recognised skin cleaner. 

Health and Safety Advice

Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Inside keep doors and windows open. If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. 

In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Flammable. Do not breathe vapour. Use only in well-ventilated areas. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show medical staff the product.
