About Rust-Oleum DAC Hydro
Rust-Oleum DAC Hydro Alu is a solar reflective coating that reflects light and heat. It is re-coatable and forms a waterproof, abrasion resistant rubber-like coating without joints or seams.
Heat-reflecting with an excellent resistance to water.
High resistance to the effects of extreme weather and changes in temperature.
Lasting elastic layer without seams or joins.
Aluminium particles are bound in the paint to provide a long lasting finish.
Vapour-permeable.
Can be used as a topcoat on Dacfill.
400% elastic.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be clean, free from peeling, dust and dirt.
Bridge cracks and fissures with Dakfill-mesh and fill any joints with Elastofill.
Very porous substrates need to be primed first with Primer 44HS.
Dac-Hydro-Alu can be directly applied on metals (except new galvanised steel), roofing and most bituminous products older than 1 year.
Dac-Hydro-Alu can be applied over most water based products such as Dacfill and Noxyde.
Do not apply directly on Fillcoat or Fillcoat Fibers. In this case first apply a coat of Dacfill.
Dac-Hydro-Alu cannot be applied on flexible PVC, EPDM, tar or bituminous materials less than 1 year old, polyisobutylene and smooth bitumen-polymers. Where there is a risk of stagnating water, Dac-Hydro-Alu must always be applied in combination with the Dacfill-mesh.
Application and Thinning
Brush: All types, do not dilute
Roller: Mohair roll with long hairs, do not dilute
Air-atomised spray: Not recommended
Airless spray: In case of airless-application, the aluminium finish will not be uniform.
