About Rust-Oleum Alkythane 7500

Rust-Oleum Alkythane 7500 top coats are based on a urethane modified alkyd resins that provide good drying properties at low temperatures.

The coatings are lead and chromate-free and contain rust-inhibiting pigments (except for 7510 clear) for additional protection.

Suitable for light industrial environments.

For metal structures in a more aggressive industrial environment, application of an additional RUST-OLEUM Alkyd primer or Alkythane 7500 finish is recommended.

  • Excellent coverage with full opacity in only one coat
  • Can be used at low temperatures
  • Very tough
  • UV resistant
  • An economical coating to prevent corrosion

Surface Preparation

Remove oil, grease and all other contamination with ND14 Cleaner Degreaser or high pressure (steam) cleaning.

Remove rust scale, loose mill scale, loose rust and loose coatings by scraping and wire brushing, blast cleaning or sanding, followed by priming with the recommended RUST-OLEUM Primers.

Sand previous coatings in good condition to provide a key for adhesion and check compatibility.

The surface must be clean and dry during application.
