Timantti Stop is a waterborne alkyd based insulation primer for indoor use. It is white and has a full matt finish.
Timantti Stop is used for previously painted and unpainted soiled concrete, stopper and building board surfaces which can not be washed or otherwise cleaned before top coating.
It is suitable for walls and ceilings as well as doors, windows and other fixed furniture indoors in dry and humid spaces and in wet rooms. Timantti Stop efficiently insulates and fixes discolourations caused by soot, nicotine and e.g. water damages. Surfaces insulation primed with Timantti Stop can be top coated with all Teknos interior paints which otherwise suit the object in question.
Timantti Stop can be used also as a top coat e.g. ceilings.
The product has been classified to Group M1 in Emission Classification of buildings.
Clean the surface from dirt and dust as well as possible. Wash water-resistant dirty surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner. Remove loose and poorly adherent coats of old paint. Matt down hard or gloss surfaces by sanding and thereafter remove the dust. To smooth irregularities in the surface choose a suitable filler. The dried filler should be sanded down and the dust removed. Steel surfaces to be primed with an anti-corrosive paint.
Timantti Stop is a waterborne paint. Coatings which are not waterproof, such as old unpainted ceiling stopper or glue paint coats, must be removed before applying Timantti Stop. Alternatively FUTURA 3 adhesion primer can be used as an insulation primer.
Before use stir the paint thoroughly. The paint can be diluted with water, if required, but dilution may impair the insulation capability and the coverage of the paint. Apply once or twice by brush, roller or spray. Recommended nozzle size for airless spray is 0.013 - 0.017''.
Top coating Surfaces insulation primed with Timantti Stop can be top-coated with all Teknos interior paints which otherwise suit the object in question. Timantti Stop is white and full matt and can be used also as a top coat e.g. on ceilings.
The surface to be painted must be dry. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the paint should be above +5°C and the relative air humidity below 80%. Drying is faster in low air humidity and/or above + 21°C.
Application will be easier if air is humidified and/or temperature is lowered in the working space. Ventilation after painting will quicken the drying.
