About Teknos Woodex Classic Translucent Wood Finish Stain

Solvent-based, mildly thixotropic, alkyd-based, non-film forming transparent wood stain for outdoor use. Protects wooden surfaces against moisture, soiling and when tinted, against the sun’s UV rays.

It can be used for new wood and previously with transparent wood stain treated wooden surfaces, e.g. log surfaces, walls, doors, window frames, jetties and fences.

Not suitable on film-forming wood stains, nor in greenhouses, hotbeds or shelters for livestock. Not suitable for indoor use.

Protects the wood against weather strain by slowing the effects from moisture, UV radiation of the sun and soiling.

Surface Preparation

Remove all loose matter, dirt and dust with wire-brush, scrubbing brush or scraper. Wash dirty and/or mildewed surfaces with RENSA FACADE  cleaner. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with water and allow to dry.

Application

Stir Woodex Classic thoroughly before use and also now and then in the course of work. Apply by brush or spray. Apply the wood stain evenly and continuously on the whole length of the beam or timber to avoid making restart points. Treat end grain with special care.

Priming with Teknos Teknal 1401 Priming Oil is recommended for untreated wood.

It is not recommended that clear wood stain is used alone due to restricted weather resistance.

Application Conditions

The surface to be treated must be dry. The moisture of the wood must be below 20 % of the dry weight of the wood. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the wood stain should be above +5 °C and the relative air humidity below 80 %.
