Protectapeel Glasstrip Original is a waterbased, weather resistant peelable protective coating for protecting glass and virtually all non-porous surfaces internally and externally for up to 6 months including PVCu, painted surfaces, aluminium and other metals. It protects against damage such as scratches, surface abrasions, spillages, overspray, dust and dirt transfer, eliminating time delays, unnecessary waste, costly repairs and replacement.
DO NOT USE ON ACRYLIC SURFACES.
Use a wet film gauge to ensure that the minimum wet film thickness is achieved.
The contents of the container should be mixed thoroughly before use. Always conduct a test area and a test peel on each substrate before use.
A minimum wet film thickness (WFT) of 300 Microns (100 Microns dry film thickness - DFT) must be achieved, anything less may result in the product becoming difficult to remove.
Do not apply in wet or freezing conditions and protect from rainfall.
Apply with airless spray gun, using a 17 thou tip size to achieve a minimum WFT of 300 Microns (100 Microns DFT). To avoid “feather edges”, apply masking tape before the product is applied. Paint up to and over the masking tape edge then remove tape when product is still wet to leave a defined edge.
Apply using a Lambswool roller.
Apply 2 coats, allowing 1st to tack off.
Apply generously to achieve a minimum WFT of 300 Microns (100 Microns DFT).
Tack Free Drying Time
A WFT of 300 Microns will be tack free in approximately 120 minutes at room temperature.
Force drying may be used by using moving air and increasing the surface temperature to a maximum of 50°C.
The theoretical coverage rate is approximately 4m2 per kg at a WFT of 300 Microns.
The dry film can be easily removed either by hand peeling or by pressure hose.
Do not remove in freezing conditions as the coating may be brittle.
External Weather Resistance
Protectapeel Glasstrip Original is suitable for up to 9 months exposure.
Clean rollers and equipment with water immediately after use.
If the protective coating rips, repair by lifting the ripped patch and apply a fresh coat to the underside and reseal. Alternatively, cut away the damaged area and apply a fresh coat.
