A quick drying Metal Primer 569/580 is used on new, blasted or slightly rusted steel surfaces in all types of industrial environment.
A universal primer for all alkyd and epoxy paint systems

Cuts down coating time
Remove grease, oil and all other surface contaminations by alkaline or high pressure (steam) cleaning in combination with appropriate detergents.
For optimum results remove rust, rust scale, mill scale and deteriorated coatings by abrasive blasting.
If blasting is not possible remove loose rust and loose coatings by scraping and/or wire brushing. Sand previous coatings which are in good condition to remove gloss and to roughen the surface slightly. The surface must be clean and dry during application.
Application and Thinning
Brush: Up to 10 vol. %; Thinner 633.
Use natural bristles, long hair brushes.
Brush application may require 2 coats to achieve recommended dry film thickness.
Roller: Up to 10 vol. %; Thinner 633.
Use medium pile, perlon 8-12 mm. rollers.
Roller application may require 2 coats to achieve recommended dry film thickness.
Air-atomised spray: 10-20 vol.%; Thinner 641. Gravity cup and pressure cup.
Tip size: 1.2 -1.8 mm.
Atomizing pressure: 2 - 4 bar.
Airless spray: If required up to 5 vol. % Thinner 641.
Pneumatic and electric airless equipment.
Tip size: 0.013-0.015 inch.
Fluid pressure: 130 - 200 bar.
Cleanup: Use Thinner 633 or white spirit.
