About Tikkurila Panssari Akva

Tikkurila Panssari Akva is a very versatile and highly durable acrylic paint for metal surfaces. It is ideal for metal-sheeted roofs and ceilings, water channels, down pipes, banisters and various steel constructions. It can be used on surfaces previously painted with alkyd or acrylic paints and coil-coated steel sheets (PVC, PURAL, PE, Acrylic, PVDF), untreated zinc-coated steel roofs and aluminium and steel surfaces must be primed with Rostex Super.

Surface Preparation

Previously painted surfaces: Remove rust and loose coating/paint with a scraper and wire brush. Clean the surface with ND14 Cleaner Degreaser to remove dirt, grease, oil and wax. Rinse the surfaces with pressure washer, preferably with warm water. Prime bare metal areas with Rostex Super Metal Primer. Unpainted zinc-coated, steel and aluminium surfaces. Paint new zinc-coated surfaces at the earliest the following year after the installation. Remove rust by scraping and wire-brushing. Remove white rust by brushing, sanding or treatment with Rust Oleum Surfa Etch 108 solution. Use ND14 Cleaner Degreaser to remove dirt, water-soluble salts, grease and oil. Rinse with water and allow to dry. Roughen the aluminium surfaces before painting. Prime zinc-coated metal surfaces and roughened aluminium and steel surfaces with 1 coat of Rostex Super Metal Primer.

Application and Thinning

Brush For airless spray application: - high pressure nozzle 0,013"-0,018" (nominal angle 40°- 50°) and thinning by max. 10 % by volume if necessary
