About Tikkurila Akrostop Stain Blocking Sealer
Akrostop is a high-performance acrylic waterborne, Matt finish insulating and stain blocking primer for all surfaces except iron and steel.
It is suitable for use on both new and previously painted concrete, plaster, brick, fibreboard, plasterboard, wood, panel and log surfaces and prevents bleeding caused by nicotine, soot, water staining.
Preparation
All painted surfaces must be dry clean and free from any materials that would affect adhesion of paint to the surface.
For best results apply in environments where the air temperature between 5 ° C and + 25 ° C, and relative air humidity below is 80%.
Unpainted surfaces covered with filler, plaster, concrete and chipboard, felt and gypsum boards:
Clean the surface of dust, dirt and loose materials. Repair and surface defects with a good quality interior filler.
Surfaces painted with dispersion, alkyd and oil paints;
Before painting the surface should be thoroughly washed and degreased. Lightly abrade glossy surfaces with medium-grain abrasive paper. Rinse thoroughly with water, dry.
Surfaces painted with lime paints;
Clean the surface of dust, dirt and loose materials. Repair and surface defects with a good quality interior filler formulated for lime plaster repairs.

Application
Apply 1 to 2 coats by brush, roller or spray gun. Finish with a suitable finishing paint.

Smooth surfaces, 6 m²/ litre to 8m²/litre
Drying Times at 23C and 50% relative humidity
- Dust dry after 1 hour
- Recoatable after 6 hours.
Cleaning
Clean equipment with water immediately after finishing.
