Teknofloor floor paint is a waterborne acrylate based floor paint for indoor use. For use on concrete or wooden surfaces either new or previously painted with alkyd or acrylate paint. For example floors and stairs, rooms, cellars, storage spaces etc. Finish is semi-gloss.
This floor paint has CE approval for protection of concrete structures.
Teknofloor Aqua is a single-component paint for concrete and wooden floors. It is an easy to use and durable paint solution for floors in homes, public spaces and storage facilities exposed to light traffic.
Teknofloor Aqua is easy and quick to apply using a roller or a brush. The surface dries quickly, allowing further layers to be applied after four hours, so the work can be completed in one day. Teknofloor Aqua provides a smooth finish typical of floor paints. The product has excellent colour durability and its white tint will not turn yellow, unlike with alkyd paints. Teknofloor Aqua can be tinted.
Clean new surfaces from dust and dirt. Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner. Matt down hard or gloss surfaces by sanding and there after remove the dust.
New Concrete Floor:
The concrete must be at least 4 weeks old and well hardened so that all moisture from casting is bound and the surface dry. The moisture of the concrete must nor exceed 97% as relative humidity or 4% by weight (by54 / BLY 12).
Remove dense laitance from steel trowelled concrete surface by sanding or etching. Sanding is the best method for removing laitance. Brittle and powdery surfaces are sanded until hard ballast layer appears. After sanding the cement, dust is vacuumed or brushed away. The surface is etched if sanding can not be performed. Use BETONI-PEITTAUSLIUOS Etching Liquid (dilution with water 1 : 1) or diluted hydrochloric acid (1 part hydrochloric acid and 4 parts water). After the etching the floor is rinsed with water and allowed to dry.
Old Concrete Floor:
Unpainted greasy floors can be cleaned by emulsifying wash. After the emulsifying wash the floor is acid etched if it is covered with laitance. Loose and poorly adherent old paint coats and laitance can be removed by scraping or machine grinding. Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner. Matt down hard or glossy surfaces by sanding and remove the dust.
New Wooden Floor:
Untreated wooden surface is cleaned and/or sanded even, if required. Sanding dust is removed.
Old Wooden Floor:
Untreated wooden surface is cleaned and/or sanded even, if required. Sanding dust is removed. Remove loose and poorly adherent old paint coats by scraping or machine grinding. Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner. Matt down hard or glossy surfaces by sanding and remove the dust.
Filling and Smoothing:
If required, holes and other irregularities can be filled with TEKNOFLOOR-KOVAKITTI Epoxy Putty or a cement-based filler which suits the hardness of the surface. Wooden surfaces are smoothed with putties that are intended for wood.
Priming Unpainted, clean, dust-free and dry concrete or wood surface is primed with paint diluted 5 - 10 % by volume.
Clean water is used for dilution. Wooden surfaces are sanded after 12 h drying, if needed.
Before use stir the paint thoroughly.
The paint is diluted with water 5 - 10 % by volume, if needed. Clean water is used for dilution.
Apply once or twice by brush, roller or spray. Suitable nozzle for airless spray is 0.015 - 0.019''.
The surface to be painted must be dry. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the paint should be above +10°C and the relative air humidity below 80%. Drying is faster in low air humidity and/or above + 21°C. Application will be easier if air is humidified and/or temperature is lowered in the working space. Ventilation after the painting will quicken the drying.
