Surface Preparation
Clean new surfaces from dust and dirt.
Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner.
Matt down hard or gloss surfaces by sanding and remove dust.
New Concrete Floor:
The concrete must be at least 4 weeks old and well hardened so that all moisture from casting is bound and the surface dry.
The moisture of the concrete must not exceed 97% relative humidity or 4% by weight.
Remove dense laitance from steel trowelled concrete surface by sanding or etching.
Brittle and powdery surfaces should be sanded until hard ballast layer appears.
The surface should be etched if sanding cannot be performed.
After the etching the floor should be rinsed with water and allowed to dry.
Old Concrete Floor:
Ensure the surface is clean and clear of oil, grease and any material that may affect adhesion.
Loose and poorly adherent old paint coats and laitance should be removed by scraping or machine grinding.
Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner.
Matt down hard or glossy surfaces by sanding and remove the dust.
New Wooden Floor:
Clean and sand new surfaces if required. Remove all dust.
Old Wooden Floor:
Remove loose and poorly adhering old paint by scraping or machine grinding.
Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner.
Matt down hard or glossy surfaces by sanding and remove the dust.
Wood surface repairs.
Fill all surface defects with a good quality flexible wood filler.
Priming
Priming Unpainted, clean, dust-free and dry concrete or wood surface is primed with paint diluted 5 - 10 % by volume.
Wooden surfaces are sanded after 12 h drying, if needed.
Application
Before use stir the paint thoroughly.
Apply two coats by brush, roller or spray.
Suitable nozzle size for airless spray is 0.015 - 0.019''.
Application Conditions
The surface to be painted must be dry.
During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the paint should be above +10°C and the relative air humidity below 80%. Drying is faster in low air humidity and/or above + 21°C.
Ventilation after the painting will quicken the drying.
