Teknos Aqua Primer is an opaque waterborne industrial primer for new wood formulated for exterior use such as windows and doors. This opaque primer seals and protects the timber prior to the application of Aquatop and Aquacoat opaque topcoats.

Pre-Treatment
The wood must be clean and free from wood dust and contamination for best application of this product. The moisture content of the wood should be approximately 13% and should not go over 15%
Application
This product should be applied by flow coating or dipping. Due to the evaporation, the solid content of the liquid must be adjusted with water regularly in order to make the product effective
Application Conditions
- The product upon delivery is ready to be used
- Always stir the product well before application
- Film Thickness: Approx 100um wet
- Optimum temperature for products and surroundings: 18-22 degree
- Optimum relative air humidity Approx. 50%
System Treatment
Primed parts must always be protected with a topcoat treatment before they are exposed to any form of weather

12-16 m2/litre
Drying Times Determined at 20 degrees and 50% relative humidity
- Dry to Handle: 1-2 hours
- Dry to sand/dry to recoat: 2-3 hours
- The drying time can be reduced using special drying systems to force drying
- The drying times are always approximate and may vary according to the quality of the wood, temperature of the wood, humidity, ventilation and film thickness
Cleaning
The equipment is cleaned with water.
