Teknos Aqua Primer 2900 is a semi-transparent waterborne industrial basestain for new manufactured hardwood and softwood structures and joinery components.

The basestain equalises the surface colour of wood and increases substrate UV stability.

It also enhances the natural colour and grain of wood.

About Teknos Aqua Primer 2900 Semi-Transparent Basestain

Teknos Aqua Primer 2900 is a translucent waterborne industrial basestain for new wood manufactured for internal and exterior use such as windows and doors. 

The Aqua primer basestain enhances the natural colour and grain of wood.

Available in a range of semi-transparent colours.

  • Apply by Dip, Flow Coat or by Spray

Pre-treatment

The wood must be clean and free from any form of dust or contamination.

The moisture content of the wood should be approximately 13% and should never exceed 15%.

All types of softwood and non durable hard wood for exterior use should either be vacuum impregnated (only softwood) or be treated with a form of a wood preservative. 

Application

To be applied by flow coating or dipping. 

Application Conditions

The product is supplied ready for use.  

System Treatment

All primed parts must always be protected with a topcoat treatment before they can be exposed to the weather. 

Coverage Rate - 6-8m2/l

Drying Times  at 20°C and 50% relative humidity. 

Dry to Handle: 1-2 hours

Dry to sand and recoat: 2-3 hours

The drying times for this product can always be reduced using a form of special drying to systems to force drying.

The drying times are always approximate and may vary according to the quality of the wood, temperature, humidity, ventilation and film thickness. 

Cleaning

The equipment must be cleaned off with fresh clean water.
