About Tikkurila Valtti Teho
Tikkurila Valtti Teho is a high performance thixotropic oil-based paint for use on exterior wood. Offers good weather resistance, flexibility and durability. Also contains linseed oil. Ideal for use on timber cladding, weather-boarding, doors, windows, sheds, garden furniture and can be used for repainting surfaces previously coated with alkyd paints and wood stains.
Attractive semi-gloss finish, available in all colours. Apply by brush or spray.
For best results and prior to application of the Teho, ensure surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, oil, wax, rust, loose material and surface contamination. Use Tikkurila products for mould removal and cleaning. Treat knots and resinous areas with Tikkurila Knotting Lacquer. Use recommended Tikkurila fillers for filling cracks, nail holes, blemishes, etc. Ensure that existing glossy, gloss painted and filled surfaces are thoroughly flatted down. Note: Discoloration of paint especially noticeable within light colours may occur over knots and resinous areas present in the wood.
Particular attention with regards to preparation should be given to wood such as Oak, Teak, Cedar, Douglas Fir, Mahogany and Idigbo, etc., which contain oil and water-soluble tannin which may impair the drying, hardening or adhesion of surface coatings and discolour the finished surface.
Prime new bare wood overall and spot prime all bare areas on previously painted wood with Valtti Base Priming Oil. Use Otex Adhesion Primer on wood that contains substances which may ‘bleed through’ and cause staining to the finished surface. Prime all bare metal and potential rust spots with Rostex Metal Primer. Note: A priming coat of Valtti Base should be applied to all exterior wood which has not been pre-treated or vacuum impregnated with an approved wood preservative.
